It’s Brad Stevens’ Time
A bold teardown requires an equally ambitious rebuild
One of the amusing things about working with Tom Ziller for so many years is people assume we agree on everything. While it’s true that we are often aligned on everything from politics to parenting, Ziller and I have also been known to engage in lengthy debates over the tiniest of details.
What I’ve always appreciated about Tom is that he’s able to present a viewpoint – please don’t call it a take – that catches me by surprise. In a world full of basketball opinions that are calculated to be either overly pasteurized or highly inflammatory, Ziller has a habit of making me reconsider my stance with fresh eyes and an open mind. For example: Tom’s recent column suggesting it was “embarrassing” for the league’s general managers to bestow their Executive of the Year trophy on Brad Stevens.
I’ve got a lengthy response behind the paywall. Sorry folks, but a guy’s got to make a living. $5 a month or $50 a year to become a paid subscriber.
